Video Tips
• Whenever possible, use high-quality equipment. Your critique could be limited by the quality of a cell phone captured video.
• Use a tripod, if available, to minimize shaking.
• Test the volume of your music so that it translates clearly into your video.
• Video from the center of the dance space instead of from a side corner.
• Video in a large space similar to that of your final performance site.
• Video full body shots the entire time. If your group is too large to fit on the screen for the entire dance, pan slowly from side to side.
• If performing a group dance in a small studio, it may be helpful to stand behind the dancers and video into the mirror.
• For best results, video your routine several times and then choose the one that best represents your true performance for submission.
• If you would like for your judges to comment on your performance attire (costume, makeup, hairstyle, etc.) please wear these items in your video.
